Marco Bonometti
Marco Bonometti is the Student Trustee for Santa Barbara City College, serving as the voice of more than 12,000 students on the Board of Trustees. In this role, he advocates for policies and initiatives that prioritize student success, equitable access to resources, and transparent, thoughtful budget planning. Marco is committed to bridging the gap between students and college leadership, ensuring that student perspectives are at the heart of institutional decision-making.
His leadership extends well beyond the trustee seat. Marco serves as Vice Chair for Region 6 of the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, representing nine community colleges in statewide governance. At SBCC, he leads as President of the Ambassadors Program, fostering campus engagement and outreach, and as President of the Phi Theta Kappa Beta Gamma Upsilon Chapter, where he supports academic excellence, service, and leadership development. On the regional level, he is also the Vice President of the Southwest District for the Nevada/California Region of Phi Theta Kappa.
Originally from Brescia, Italy, Marco is pursuing a career in Business Administration and will transfer to a four-year university in the fall of 2026. His leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration, cultural exchange, and service to others. Outside of college, Marco actively participates in community outreach, mentoring high school students in business administration, marketing, and leadership through DECA. He also volunteers with local organizations, building connections between education, civic engagement, and career pathways.
Whether in the boardroom, the classroom, or the community, Marco’s work reflects a dedication to empowering others and shaping opportunities that will benefit students for years to come.
